Questions of God's Justice in Romans

Questions of God's Justice in Romans

In memory of Dr. Harold Hoehner

With the problems of evil, pain, and suffering being raised by contemporary society, there is a great need for the church to think Christianly about what it means to worship and serve a just and sovereign God.

The book of Romans is saturated with discussion of the justice and righteousness of God. Paul essentially develops humanity's need for God's righteousness, how we obtain it, and how we then live in it.Over the following weeks, beginning February 9th, we will examine in depth two passages in Romans that explicitly deal with the question: "Is God just?"

First, Romans 9:14-18 in which the motivation of God in the salvation of humanity is called into question. And second, Romans 3:21-26 in which Paul justifies the action of God in salvation.

I hope you enjoy reading and interacting with the Biblical text as we wrestle together over a profound question of the faith.
